ARCOTEL Hotels Sustainability Strategy
At ARCOTEL Hotels, we take our responsibility for the environment, society and our planet very seriously and are actively committed to sustainable tourism. Our goal is to help make the world a place worth living in. We are guided by the international sustainability label Green Key, which stands for exemplary environmental responsibility in more than 60 countries.
Green Key is a voluntary sustainability certification programme and one of the leading standards for excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the tourism industry. More than 4,000 establishments in 60 countries currently hold Green Key certification. Green Key represents an establishment’s commitment to its guests that their stay contributes to environmental protection and sustainability. The high standards in environmental management and sustainability education are reviewed at ARCOTEL Hotels through a rigorous application process and regular audits. The certificate is valid for one year at a time.
Every ARCOTEL Hotel has an environmental officer – the General Manager personally takes on this responsibility. Ideas and suggestions on sustainability from guests and employees are always welcome. Because sustainability is a team effort for us: annual staff meetings and training sessions ensure that everyone stays informed and that awareness remains strong.
At ARCOTEL, sustainability is not a temporary initiative, but a daily commitment. Together, we strive to leave the smallest possible ecological footprint for future generations.
