ARCOTEL Hotels Sustainability Strategy
At ARCOTEL Hotels, we take our responsibility for the environment, society and our planet very seriously and are actively committed to sustainable tourism. Our goal is to help make the world a place worth living in. We are guided by the international sustainability label Green Key, which stands for exemplary environmental responsibility in more than 60 countries.
Many years ago, ARCOTEL Hotels made the decision to take active and continuous measures to reduce its carbon footprint, avoid waste and use available resources responsibly. As an Austrian family-owned company with city hotels in Austria and Germany, we are fully aware of our responsibility towards the environment. We consider compliance with legal requirements and regulations relating to the environment, health, safety and employment at international, national and local level to be our duty – but we aim to go one step further.
For more than ten years, we have been committed to a better environment through our project “Small Steps, Big Successes”. Saving the world single-handedly is not the aim, but many achievements within our hotels are made possible through committed work behind the scenes and the conscious actions of all employees. That is why we place particular emphasis on inspiring our team to engage with this important topic. Everyone in the extended ARCOTEL family plays their part, and together we act in the interests of the environment every day. The result is a mosaic made up of many individual pieces that together make a meaningful contribution to sustainability and environmental awareness. Our guests can feel the difference.
Every ARCOTEL Hotel has an environmental officer – the General Manager personally takes on this responsibility. Ideas and suggestions on sustainability from guests and employees are always welcome. Because sustainability is a team effort for us: annual staff meetings and training sessions ensure that everyone stays informed and that awareness remains strong.
